Hello again from Key West,Fl. We are nearing the end of January and what great couple of months it has been. Our full day trips have been action packed with plenty of blackfin tunas, sailfish , and various reef species. It is exactly how winter fishing is supposed to be in the Florida Keys.
With as much fun as this season has been so far I personally cannot wait for the spring fishing we have on the way. Starting mid March we will be fishing near the Dry Tortugas behind the shrimp boats for Blackfin Tunas. This is a very exciting way to fish having tunas so chummed up they will eat your bait inches from the boat. This is a great opportunity for guests of all skill levels to enjoy some great fishing. This is also a great trip for fly fishing anglers wishing to tackle large saltwater fish in ways you likely have never fished before. Once we have had our fill of tunas for the day we will usually head to one of the hundreds of wrecks north of the dry tortugas in the Gulf of America to target permit , snappers , jacks and Goliath Groupers until it’s time to return home. This is a day that won’t be forgotten and is fun for anyone that enjoys fishing. Please reach out to me with any questions regarding trips and when is the best time to take each.
