About Captain Chris Trosset
Captain Chris Trosset son of the legendary captain Robert “RT” Trosset, has been fishing in Key West Florida all his life. Growing up with the gulf of Mexico as his backyard has truly given Capt. Chris a knowledgof the surrounding waters like no other.
From an early age Capt. Chris has been setting the bar for the next generation of fisherman. He was a leader in the Key West Fishing Tournament for many years. He received 2 Jr. Master Angler titles along with several tournament records including a 51 pound swordfish on 20 lb test that still stands. He was also invited to the Jr IGFA fishing tournament where he placed 4th. At 16 he received the Men’s Master Angler award, fly fishing division achievement, and most tarpon released (most of which caught after school in his beloved “Tarpon Pond”). More recently he has had great success in many local tournaments including a second place finish in the key west marlin tournament, 5th place in the Florida Keys Dolphin Championship and first place in the Key West Shell Challenge. Photos of Chris’s catches were a frequent appearance in the Key West Citizen, and he has been featured in several magazines including Sport Fishing Magazine and Florida Sportsman.
If you said Capt Chris liked to fish it would be vast understatement. Most of his free time is spent fishing trying to perfect his skills in any way possible. Weather its catching bait for the following days trip, or finding what wreck the tunas are holding on best. Captain Chris Trosset lives to fish. After spending a day on the water with him you too will be hooked too.
